USS Lexington

The USS Lexington was a wartime aircraft carrier that was commissioned on February 17, 1943. It was originally named the USS Cabot, but while work was being finished on the ship the USS Lexington CV-2 sunk and a campaign began to change the name.

During it's commission the Lexington was sunk 4 times. Japenese nicknamed it the Blue Ghose because even though it was sunk it kept coming back.

When Lex was decommissioned on November 23, 1991 it was the oldest working carrier in the Navy.

Haunted?

A man named Charlie dressed in a summer white Navy uniform, with a clear complexion, piercing blue eyes, 19 maybe 20 years old is often seen by vistors in the engine room. Staff themselves have never seen him but he's always said to be very polite and knowlegable. He doesn't wear a nametap but loves to tell visitors things about the ship no one else knows. And apparenlty this ghost likes to work. Sometimes when the crew starts a project they will leave and return to find their task completed.

It is not clear how exactly this man died but as long as he's friendly, he can stick around.
