Point Lookout in Maryland was built in 1830 and had been in service for 12 years when the Civil War broke out. It was
used as Hammond Hospital for the injured and sick, and Camp Hoffman for Conderate solider prisoners. This lighthouse
is deemed the Most Haunted Lighthouse in American, mostly because of its past. In 1965 it was automated.
Prisoners diedand were buried on the property. Many graves have been found.
Snoring has been heard, people are heard talking, figures have been seen. A figure of a man with a beard, said to be
the first keeper, seen often seen. His wife Ann Davis maintaine the lighthouse for 30 years after his death and has been seen
at the top of the stairs and has been heard sighing. Another women is often seen looking for the graves of her children.
One resident had the back porch fenced in with the dog locked in, the dog started barking and was found outside of the
fence with the gate completely locked.
